While Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja'Marr Chase and New York Jets pass-rusher Haason Reddick still await a contract extension (or trade in Reddick's case) from their respective teams, it's been a massive offseason for NFL superstars in terms of new money being made.
Much of the cash has gone to athletes from one college football breeding ground for future NFL talent — the University of Alabama.

Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Surtain II became the latest former member of the Crimson Tide to earn a big-money deal, agreeing to a four-year, $96M extension with the Denver Broncos on Wednesday, a contract that gives him $77.5M guaranteed. The payday also makes him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.
Surtain is among nearly two dozen Alabama products who racked up millions this summer, either by committing long-term to their current team or joining a new club in free agency.
Among them were a host of offensive stars such as Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and star running backs Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay Packers, respectively.
There were also a handful of former standout Crimson Tide pass-catchers who inked huge contracts.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith and Miami Dolphins wideout Jaylen Waddle both signed deals to stay with their teams. Calvin Ridley and Jerry Jeudy, meanwhile, left the Jacksonville Jaguars and Broncos to suit up with the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, respectively.
With nine national championship appearances under legendary former head coach Nick Saban from 2009-2021 (including six titles), it's no wonder that there are so many ex-Alabama stars making big money in the NFL now.
It's money that someone like Dr. Evil from the "Austin Powers" film trilogy would certainly be proud of.
