Former Auburn Assistant Coach Carnell Williams hired to be Raiders running backs coach
Jake Crandall / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Las Vegas Raiders had somewhat of a big issue last week. After letting Kennedy Polamalu, their former running backs coach, walk, they hired UCLA legend DeShaun Foster to be the new RBs coach.

Foster didn't last a week on the job, but not in a bad way. He accepted the head coaching position at UCLA when he learned Chip Kelly would leave. It was a much better move for him in his career.

That's why the Raiders will have a spot on the staff to fill that they thought was already filled. So, it was back to the drawing board. Now, they have their guy.

According to Mike Gittens, who covers Auburn Football, the former Tigers assistant coach Carnell Williams, or Cadillac Williams as some know him, will accept a job with the Raiders as their RBs coach.

Williams played in the league for seven years, six with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his rookie year, he rushed for over 1,100 yards and had six touchdowns. Williams has the game experience and the coaching experience. To me, this could end up being a better hire than the original one.
