The Chicago Bears were believed to be active in the defensive line market beginning on Monday. However, it was the running back and safety positions that Ryan Poles addressed first through the signings of D'Andre Swift and Kevin Byard . Now, a staple of the Bears' defensive line for the last two seasons has found a new home. According to reports, DT Justin Jones is signing a three-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals

Jones will average a hair over $10 million per season with the Cardinals, and nearly two-thirds of the deal is guaranteed. The dollar value is a really nice number and pay bump for Jones.

In two seasons with the Bears, Jones recorded 101 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 8 passes defended, and 1 fumble recovery. Although Jones' stats don't jump off the page, he was a solid presence in the pivotal three-technique spot in Matt Eberflus' defense. Now, Jones will be paid handsomely on his next deal.

Prior to the 2022 season, Jones inked a two-year, $12 million deal in Chicago. Jones ultimately replaced Larry Ogunjobi after his failed physical. Ogunjobi and the Bears agreed to a three-year, $40.5 million deal before the termination. Jones did an admirable job as the team's big-fish signing at the DT position for two seasons.

With Jones' departure, the Bears will surely add at defensive tackle. As of now, Andrew Billings, and second-year players Zacch Pickens and Gervon Dexter Sr. round out the group. Adding another true three-technique feels like something the Bears will do in either free agency or the NFL Draft.
