Former Bengals guard Alex Redmond signs with Patriots

The New England Patriots are signing former Cincinnati Bengals guard Alex Redmond, according to his agent Michael Hoffman.

Redmond spent the first four years of his career in Cincinnati and worked out for the Patriots last week.

The 26-year-old appeared in 32 games for the Bengals since 2017, making 24 starts.

Cincinnati added three offensive linemen in the draft and signed Riley Reiff in free agency, making Redmond expendable.

The UCLA product will join a Patriots offensive line that includes Trent Brown, Yodny Cajuste, Korey Cunningham, Justin Herron, Ted Karras, Shaq Mason, Michael Onwenu, David Andrews and Isaiah Wynn.

New England also re-signed center James Ferentz on Monday.
