Remembering Hayden Hurst's brief stint with Bengals

Cincinnati signed Hurst following in the 2022 offseason, fresh off its 2021 run to the Super Bowl. The former first-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft inked a one-year, $3.5 million contract to replace C.J. Uzomah, who left to sign a three-year, $24 million deal the same offseason.

Hurst proved quite valuable for the Bengals playing on that contract. He caught 52 passes for 414 yards and two touchdowns in 13 regular season games. He caught an additional 13 receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown in three playoff games.

Like Uzomah, Hurst capitalized on his time in Cincy and signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. His stint in Carolina only lasted nine games as he missed the second-half of the 2023 season due to a concussion. The Panthers released him in 2024, but he earned the $13 million guaranteed to him from the club.

Hurst last played for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024. He appeared in nine games and caught eight passes for 73 yards.
