A former Denver Broncos starting tight end is on the move again. After playing 17 games (three starts) for the San Francisco 49ers last season, tight end Eric Saubert is staying in the NFC West.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN , "(The Seattle) Seahawks signed former 49ers tight end Eric Saubert." He joins Noah Fant and AJ Barner in the tight end room.

In 2024, Saubert started three of the 17 games he played for the 49ers, totaling 11 receptions for 97 receiving yards and one touchdown. Over his seven-year career, he has racked up 47 receptions, 389 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and one fumble.
Saubert was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round (No. 174 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played two seasons in Atlanta before being traded to the New England Patriots during the 2020 NFL Draft. However, Saubert was released before ever taking a snap for the Patriots. Throughout his career, he has also played for the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans.
The Drake University alum has bounced around during his NFL career, but he is best known for his time with the Broncos. In Denver, Saubert started 10 games over two years, accumulating 23 receptions, 195 yards, two touchdowns, and eight first-down conversions.
As he enters his age-31 season, Saubert should be viewed primarily as a veteran depth option for Seattle. While he may not make many highlight reels, he has established himself as a reliable pass-catcher when called upon.
