Former Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens has landed a new coaching gig.Kitchens is set to be the new tight ends coach at North Carolina, Browns Digest can confirm.

Since being fired from the Browns following the 2020 season, Kitchens has worked with the New York Giants and South Carolina. Last football season, Kitchens was a senior football analyst with the Gamecocks.

While with Cleveland, Kitchens was in over his head immediately and it led to a disaster 6-10 season, a step back for the Browns who were led by Baker Mayfield at the time.

Kitchens has his first assistant coaching title since 2021 when he coached the tight ends with the Giants organization. The move to North Carolina will allow Kitchens to work his way back up the coaching ranks if all goes well for the 48-year-old.
