Former Buccaneers' Running Back Expected to Sign with New England Patriots
USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released former third-round running back out of Vanderbilt Ke'Shawn Vaughn last week after he fell out of the team's rotation behind starter Rachaad White, Chase Edmonds, and rookie Sean Tucker.

Less than a week after being released it appears that Vaughn already has a new home as he is expected to head North to Foxborough, Massachusetts to join Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots per Ian Rapoport.

The Patriots intend to sign Vaughn to the practice squad - adding depth to the position with Rhamondre Stevenson out due to a high ankle sprain for a few weeks. Vaughn will likely slot in behind Ezekiel Elliott and JaMycal Hasty.

As previously mentioned, Vaughn had fallen out of the rotation in Tampa Bay with the additions they brought in this offseason and will look to grasp on with the Patriots in hopes of continuing his career in some sort of capacity.

Since being drafted in the third round out of Vanderbilt, Vaughn has been a backup option for the Buccaneers with his best season coming in 2021 when he carried the ball 36 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Across his four-year NFL career, all with the Buccaneers, Vaughn has rushed the ball 103 times for 384 yards and two touchdowns while adding on 14 receptions for 81 yards and a single touchdown.
