SCOTTSDALE- On Friday, former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer and some of the members of the Class of 2024 were inducted by the National Quarterback Club into the Hall of Fame.

During his time in Arizona, Palmer played a key role in the Cardinals’ successful 2015 season, where they achieved a 13-3 record and won the NFC West Division title. He was also named to the Pro Bowl three times and was named to the Second Team All-Pro in 2015.

Palmer retired from professional football in 2017 after playing in the NFL for 15 seasons and was inducted into the Cardinals’ Ring of Honor in 2019 and the College Football Hall of Fame two years later.

“It’s just an elite club,” Palmer said. “The quarterback position is so challenging. All these guys had tremendous amount of success playing the position. A lot of these guys that have come before me are guys I followed, grew up watching, grew up cheering for or cheering against, if they were playing for my team.

“It’s just a special night (and) opportunity, and the fact that my kids get to see me go into the national quarterback hall of fame, although they were around when I was playing. … So for them to be here and experience this is special for our family.”

Quarterback Donovan McNabb had a notable 13-season career in the NFL and is recognized as one of the most successful quarterbacks in Philadelphia Eagles history, even without a Super Bowl victory. He led the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXIX during the 2004 season and played for the team for 11 seasons.

After his time with the Eagles, McNabb spent his final two seasons with the Washington Commanders (formerly known as the Redskins) and the Minnesota Vikings before retiring in 2012. Throughout his professional career, he was selected to the Pro Bowl six times and holds the franchise records for the Eagles in passing yards, passing touchdowns, attempts, and completions.

“(It’s the) best position on the field,” McNabb said. “From an extension, from a coach being a leader of men on the football field, being in current situations, and having the confidence that everybody’s going to do their job, and they’re relying on you to do your job, to every be very successful at the end of it all.”

As legendary quarterbacks from the past take their rightful place in the Hall of Fame, fans celebrate their immense contributions to the world of professional football. Their stories, filled with grit and determination, continue to inspire new generations of players and fans alike.
