Former Cardinals CB Joins Ravens Practice Squad
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

There's a handful of former Arizona Cardinals that can potentially grab a Super Bowl ring this year, and one more was added to the list this week.

NFL insider Aaron Wilson is reporting the Baltimore Ravens are adding Christian Matthew to their practice squad.

Matthew was Arizona's seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and spent one full season with the team before being released this past October.

One day later, the Chicago Bears added him to their practice squad, where he spent the rest of the regular season. He was made a free agent after the Bears declined to sign him to a futures contract, and thus now finds himself in Baltimore.

His rookie season, Matthew played in 14 games with three starts in Arizona's secondary. He ended the 2022 season with 19 tackles and three passes defensed.

He played in four games for the Cardinals this past year with one tackle and only featured in two games for Chicago afterwards.

The Ravens are fresh off a bye week and hope to make good on their No. 1 seed in the AFC as they host the Houston Texans this week. If rooting for a former Cardinals player to get a ring wasn't enough motivation, a loss to the Texans would finally stop Arizona's second first-round pick (that belongs to Houston) from sliding.
