Former Cardinals Safety Claimed on Waivers

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals made a somewhat shocking move earlier this week when they announced a handful of roster moves, one of which saw the release of safety K'Von Wallace.

Wallace had played in all seven games for the Cardinals and started five, thanks to various injuries to starting safeties Jalen Thompson and Budda Baker. He registered 43 tackles, four passes defended and one interception in Arizona before being released.

Now, he's found a new team.

NFL Media's Tom Pelissero is reporting the Tennessee Titans have claimed Wallace on waivers.

When asked about the move, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said, "We feel good about the room and who's playing right now and the roles of different guys ... Not so much what K'Von didn't do, it's what the other guys have been doing."

Wallace reportedly had at least a dozen teams interested:

The Cardinals welcomed back Baker from injured reserve last week and could potentially see Thompson return to action after missing the previous two games as well. Andre Chachere has operated as the team's third safety and would likely fill any vacant starting spot.

The Titans, on the other hand, recently traded safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for safety Terrell Edmunds and two Day 3 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Wallace played over 80% of defensive snaps in Arizona.
