It didn't take too long for a former Indianapolis Colts coach to land on his feet.

Although the Colts and defensive coordinator Gus Bradley parted ways this offseason, he will remain in the league in 2025 and will join Robert Saleh's defensive staff with the San Francisco 49ers.

Former Colts DC Gus Bradley lands a job on the 49ers staff

The Colts hired Bradley to be their defensive coordinator ahead of the 2022, originally under head coach Frank Reich. After Reich's firing, Bradley stuck around with the team and was the DC under Shane Steichen these past two years.

Though he is not back with the Colts, he technically was not fired, as the move was announced as the sides parted ways. This likely means his contract was up, and the team elected not to negotiate a new deal for him to remain in his role. Instead, the team hired former Cincinnati Bengals DC Lou Anarumo for the same role in Indianapolis.

Bradley is rejoining a friendly face on the 49ers, with his new boss being Robert Saleh, who spent time on Bradley's staff with the Seattle Seahawks. Their roles will now be reversed, though, as Saleh is the DC, and Bradley is an assistant on his staff. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, though, as Saleh has referred to Braldey as one of his biggest mentors during his coaching career. So, him choosing to bring him with him to the 49ers makes sense.
