Former Cowboys Receiver Brutally Rips Into Micah Parsons

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is one of the best defensive players in football, but not everyone is a huge fan of him. That includes some former Cowboys players.

Former Dallas wide receiver Jesse Holley, who briefly played for the franchise between 2010 and 2011, recently attacked Parsons during an episode of Ray Ray’s Podcast.

“Micah Parsons, to me, is probably the most selfish player on this football team,” Holley said. “One of the reasons that Micah Parsons does not want to play linebacker is it’s too much of a responsibility. … Maybe it’s just the youth in him. Micah doesn’t want to study. Micah doesn’t want to focus in, and I truly believe Micah wants to be great for Micah.”

Those are certainly some harsh words.

Holley’s comments followed the Cowboys’ Wild Card Round playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, where Dallas had fallen behind 27-0 by halftime before losing 48-32. Parsons was essentially a non-factor in the defeat, logging just one tackle.

That came after Parsons racked up 64 tackles, 14 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery during the regular season. He earned his third Pro Bowl selection as a result.

So, is it possible Holley is making those remarks because Parsons shrunk in the playoffs? Parsons has registered just one sack in four career playoff games, so perhaps Holley feels that Parsons isn’t focused enough to truly produce on the big stage?

It’s unclear why Holley decided to launch a verbal assault on one of the Cowboys’ best players. For all of the problems with Dallas, Parsons definitely isn’t one of them.

We’ll see if Micah Parsons decides to respond, or if he decides that the wide out who caught just seven passes in his short NFL career isn’t worth his time.
