Former Cowboys Star Throws Shade After Signing With Jaguars

The Dallas Cowboys had Jourdan Lewis for eight seasons before he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week.

Lewis was one of the Cowboys' best defensive players and had the best season of his career in 2024, finishing with 71 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception, and eight passes defended.

That season, along with his entire Cowboys tenure, helped land him a three-year, $30 million contract with the Jaguars.

Lewis is stoked to be with the Jaguars but is throwing some shade at the Cowboys on social media. He didn't like how the Cowboys did "match and man" with him because he had the highest-rated slot coverage grade in the league.

"Highest rated slot coverage grade and all we did was match and man," Lewis tweeted.

One fan then tweeted him, saying that Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper Dejean is better, and he didn't care for it.

"Watch Dallas vs. the Panthers 2024 and then watch Philly vs Panthers 2024," he told this fan.

Lewis finally apologized after tweeting at fans a bit more, saying that it was about a "decade of frustration."

"I’m sorry y'all. This is about a decade of frustration, I’m done," Lewis tweeted.

He is determined to prove his doubters wrong when the 2025 season starts in September. He's joining a Jaguars team that is trying to rebound after only winning four games in 2024.

They have a new head coach in Liam Coen and hope he can get the most out of quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Lewis will be a key cog in the Jaguars' secondary for the next three years and hopes to give them some strong play.

He has appeared in 115 games, totaling 386 tackles, 10 interceptions, and 44 passes defended.
