Former Cowboys’ WR Threw Subtle Shot At Eagles’ Jalen Hurts
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has come under fire a little bit in recent weeks. The Eagles haven’t been playing very good football recently, as they are riding a three-game losing streak.

During that stretch, the Eagles have watched their lead in the NFC East and grip on the No. 1 seed in the conference slip away. A big reason for that slippage has been the production of Hurts, which has fallen off.

He has failed to reach the 200-yard mark in back-to-back games against the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks. In four out his last five games, he has thrown for 200 yards or less, as the Eagles offense has been unable to consistently get going.

Just a few weeks ago, Hurts was considered the odds-on favorite to win the MVP award. That title has now been bestowed upon Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers, but Dak Prescott of the Cowboys is also right in the race.

Prescott outdueled Hurts in their Week 14 matchup, which the Cowboys defeated the Eagles 33-13. On Monday Night Football against the Seahawks, Hurts threw two critical interceptions, which led to a former Cowboys receiver taking a shot at the Philadelphia starting quarterback.

“But the media doesn’t want to talk about INT’s this year,” Simi Fehoko wrote in reference to Hurts on X, formerly Twitter.

Fehoko is almost certainly referencing all of the chatter that surrounded his former quarterback last season. Prescott was a major topic of discussion during the 2022 campaign as he led the NFL with 15 interceptions despite playing in only 12 games.

Throughout the offseason, he faced questions about his propensity to turn the ball over. He was ripped apart for a three-interception performance in Week 5 against the 49ers as well. But, as Fehoko has pointed out, that same energy has not been shown toward Hurts, who now has 12 interceptions this season and has fumbled eight times.

Fehoko is playing for the Los Angeles Chargers now, but that Cowboys/Eagles rivalry runs deep. Despite being on the opposite coast, he is still paying close attention and finds the time to poke some fun at a former rival.
