The 2024 season was a breath of fresh air for former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.
Wilson played in 11 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns, leading the team to the playoffs.
After Wilson's two mediocre seasons with the Denver Broncos, many believed the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback would never return to his old form.
Wilson isn't the All-Pro quarterback he was a decade ago, but he's still capable of leading a team on Sundays.
Although the 36-year-old quarterback had a productive season with the Steelers, he may not return this offseason.
Wilson is a free agent, and Pittsburgh will most likely sign backup quarterback Justin Fields, who started six games last season.
If Wilson is the odd quarterback out with the Steelers, a handful of teams should be looking to sign him to at least a one-year deal.
Marcus Mosher from the 33rd Team thinks Wilson would be a great fit in New York playing for the Giants.
"The plan is to select one early in the 2025 NFL Draft, but with the Giants picking at No. 3, there is a chance that the top two quarterbacks (Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders) are off the board. Wilson would give them a strong backstop in case they get wiped out during the draft and potentially a bridge quarterback, even if they were to select one of the top passers." Mosher wrote.
"Wilson is still incredibly accurate on deep passes down the field, but his athleticism is waning, and his inability to throw over the middle of the field can severely limit his offenses. Still, landing in New York as a bridge quarterback makes a ton of sense for both parties."
If the Giants signed Wilson, he could be the bridge quarterback to which quarterback they take at No. 3 in this year's draft, or he could be the guy all season and let the Giants take their rookie signal caller in 2026.
