Former Dolphins 4th-Round Pick Signs with Eagles

Some Miami Dolphins fans might have already forgotten about wide receiver Erik Ezukanma. A fourth-round pick of the Dolphins back in the 2022 NFL Draft, he appeared in just five games across his three seasons in Miami and recorded one single reception in that span.

Not only that, but he hasn’t suited up in an NFL game in quite a while. While the Dolphins released him less than one year ago back in August of 2025, one has to travel all the way back to December of 2024 — a Dolphins victory over the San Francisco 49ers — to find the last time he logged any snaps.

However, one of the best teams in the NFL is giving him another chance to play at the highest level. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday that the wideout has agreed to terms on a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, who are hard on the heels of an 11-win season in 2025.

For as underwhelming as Ezukanma’s Dolphins stint was, he was arguably dealt a bad hand and set up to disappoint by landing with Miami at the time he did. After all, the Dolphins had elite corps in every one of Ezukanma’s three seasons, and he was never going to be one of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa‘s top targets so long as guys like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were on the roster.

And unfortunately for the young receiver, he’s facing an uphill battle to contribute on an Eagles roster that’s also got plenty of depth at the position. Philadelphia did trade star A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots not long ago, but it still employs several capable receivers, including DeVonta Smith. It would be a major surprise if Ezukanma even managed to crack the final roster — he’ll really need to turn heads for that to happen.
