Over the years, the Miami Dolphins have had plenty of defensive linemen come through the organization. Back in 2015, the Dolphins brought in an, at the time, dominant interior lineman who would go on to play an incredible 13-year NFL career in Ndamukong Suh.

A decade after joining the Dolphins, the longtime defensive lineman announced his retirement from the NFL. Suh shared a heartfelt message on social media, explaining his decision to retire and walk away from the NFL.

"After 13 seasons in the National Football League, I'm officially retiring from the game of football." Suh wrote. "This decision has been years in the making. But today, July 12th, carries a deeper meaning."

The decision from Suh comes in honor of his late father, whom he took great inspiration from. It's a very heartfelt goodbye from Suh, who is finally retiring after 13 years in the NFL.

In his illustrious career, Suh was a five-time Pro-Bowler, a three-time First-Team All-Pro, a two-time Second-Team All-Pro, and also a Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2010 with the Detroit Lions.

He spent the first five years of his career in Detroit before joining the Dolphins in 2015. During his stint in Miami, Suh earned his fifth and final Pro-Bowl nod and his second Second-Team All-Pro in 2016.

In the three years he spent in Miami, from 2015 to 2017, Suh racked up 15.5 sacks, 181 tackles, and 37 tackles for loss. He started all 48 games the Dolphins played during those three seasons.

Across his 13-year NFL career, Suh has a solid case for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He has 71.5 career sacks, 600 career tackles, 130 tackles for loss, 214 quarterback hits, one interception, 38 passes defended (including 13 in Miami), five forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, and three fumbles returned for touchdowns.

The former Dolphins tight end has put together an incredible career. Whether he will make the Hall of Fame is still debatable, but the former Dolphins defensive lineman has done more than enough in his NFL career to look back and view his career positively.
