Former Eagles All-Pro LT Jason Peters to meet with rival Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys lost star Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith to a knee injury in late August, an issue that will keep him sidelined indefinitely. Smith has been placed on injured reserve, and with their 2022 season-opener just nine days away, Dallas is looking at a long-time rival as a possible replacement.

In July, Peters -- a fellow former two-time First Team All-Pro -- said regarding his free agency "whenever the opportunity comes, I am going to give it one more run at it." The nine-time Pro Bowler turned 40 years old in January.

Following five seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2004 to 2008 to start his career, and 12 years with the Philadelphia Eagles which included a Super Bowl title, Peters spent the 2021 campaign with the Chicago Bears. He played and started in 15 games last season, helping along the offensive line to protect an array of quarterbacks including Justin Fields, Andy Dalton and Nick Foles.

Peters was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-2010s Team and with his 218 career games started, he ranks among the active leaders, trailing only Tom Brady (316) and Matt Ryan (222).
