Former Eagles draft pick could sabotage Cowboys OL after latest injury news

The Philadelphia Eagles may be 2-0 on the season, but the path to those two victories have been as rocky and uninspiring as possible. Still, this team once again rules the roost in the NFC East, as the rival Dallas Cowboys are looking up at them as a result of their 1-1 record.

While Dak Prescott has performed admirably this season, he is dealing with an offensive line that is starting to fall apart. Left tackle Tyler Guyton has been banged up all season long, and now center Cooper Beebe appears ready to miss a major chunk of the 2025 season.

Beebe sustained a high ankle sprain that will keep him out between six and eight weeks. The Cowboys' lack of great offensive line depth could lead to them to consider sliding Keegan, whom they picked up after the preseason, over to the guard spot.

Eagles fans know all too well the pitfalls that could come with letting Keegan get extended time at center, as one of the defining offensive trends from the 2025 preseason was the fact that Keegan was unable to perform well after switching over from guard.

Former Eagles draft pick Trevor Keegan could struggle with Cowboys

While Keegan was a solid guard prospect at Michigan who had some quality reps in the preseason in that familiar role, giving him some snaps at center proved to be one of the biggest mistakes the Eagles made in the offseason. Keegan struggled with snapping, and he was ultimately released at the end of the preseason.

Keegan will likely be competing with Cowboys backup Brock Hoffman, a true center who has been on the Dallas roster in a backup role since the 2022 season. While this might be his time to shine, the Cowboys could be entranced by Keegan's strength and college pedigree.

If that happens, Dallas had better prepare for a player who isn't great at snapping and looked much worse than he was at his natural guard spot. Even though Dallas' schedule gets a bit easier with duels against the winless Bears and Jets, both of them have defensive tackles who could take advantage of this.

Keegan may not have been able to put together many great moments as an Eagle, but if he is able to hurt the Cowboys' chances of challenging for a division title, that will be considered meritorious service in the eyes of this fanbase.
