Former Florida HC Steve Spurrier takes hilarious cheap shot when speculating on College Football Playoff

There is nobody in the history of college football quite like the "Head Ball Coach" Steve Spurrier.

The former Florida Gators head coach who spent time with the Washington Commanders and South Carolina Gamecocks in his later years wasn't one to mince his words. Spurrier had no issue throwing shots at rival teams, especially when he was at Florida. Who could forget "Free Shoes University" or "Peyton Manning returning for his senior season so he could be 3-time MVP of the Citrus Bowl."

Spurrier may be retired and away from the game in an official capacity, but it hasn't stopped him from throwing shade at a former rival. Make an appearance on the Another Dooley Noted Podcast, Spurrier and host Pat Dooley were discussing the College Football Playoff and the tiebreaker scenarios to get in before Spurrier just had to get in a line about Florida State.

"Head-to-head first then strength of schedule, that's the only way they can do it," said Spurrier of the tiebreaker format. "They'll figure out something and someone will be b****ing and complaining just like FSU (Florida State) did last year."

It's perfect Spurrier because they were genuinely complaining about being fifth in the final College Football Playoff rankings, despite being 13-0. The reason had everything to do with starting quarterback Jordan Travis suffering a broken ankle a few weeks before the rankings were unveiled and the committee didn't believe they were one of the best four teams as they were currently constructed.

Even in his retirement, Spurrier has no issue going after one of his biggest rivals.
