Former Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller was set to retire this offseason but changed his mind
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders traded away Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller last offseason. Waller played with the New York Giants last season.

He was traded away last offseason when he and then head coach Josh McDaniels couldn't see eye-to-eye. Waller's production also fell off big time, and it was time for a new contract soon, and the production didn't match what Waller was wanting.

Just to save both sides, the Raiders traded him. A lot of fans didn't necessarily like the trade because most of them loved Waller for what he went through during his time in Vegas and what he was able to overcome. But it was time for a change in scenery.

According to Wesley Steinberg, Waller was set on retiring this offseason but has since changed his mind.

Waller has three years left on his contract with the Giants. But that doesn't mean he can't retire, as he can do that whenever he pleases. Fans of Raider Nation who watched him closely for so long hope that everything is good with Waller and that he is doing well.
