Ryan Fitzpatrick has worn many hats since retiring from football, mostly centering on media. Amid a season of further NFL broadcast expansion, Fitzpatrick is getting another new opportunity to add to his resume.
According to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic, Fitzpatrick has been tabbed to serve as the radio analyst for next Monday's Panthers-49ers game on Westwood One Sports. It will be Fitzpatrick's first-ever game where he broadcasts from the booth. Per the report, he will be paired with veteran play-by-play man Ryan Radtke.
"Some sports audio news: @FitzMagic_14 will be the analyst for next Monday's @Panthers at @49ers game for Westwood One Sports. First time for Fitzpatrick in that booth. He'll team with Ryan Radtke. Kevin Harlan and Kurt Warner are off for the week," Deitsch wrote on X this morning.

Fitzpatrick played in the NFL for over 15 years for nine different franchises, setting an NFL record for teams he started games for. He became a fan favorite across multiple franchises for his big personality as well as his distinct big beard.
He became known for stepping into difficult situations and delivering shockingly high-level performances that earned him the nickname "Fitzmagic." Fitzpatrick’s gunslinger mentality produced thrilling highs, including multiple 400-yard passing streaks and several upset wins, but also some crushing lows.
Despite never securing a long-term franchise QB role, Fitzpatrick earned respect throughout the league as a charismatic leader, veteran mentor, and locker-room favorite. His bearded persona, fearless playstyle, and tendency to spark short bursts of elite production made him a fan favorite everywhere he played. By the time he retired after the 2021 season, Fitzpatrick had thrown for over 34,000 yards and 223 touchdowns—one of the most productive careers ever for a journeyman quarterback. His legacy lives on as the ultimate example of resilience, adaptability, and entertainment in modern NFL history.
In June of 2022, a few months after retiring, Fitzpatrick joined the Amazon Prime Video broadcast team as one of the studio analysts. About a year later, Fitzpatrick became a spokesperson for DraftKings and also started doing podcast work alongside Prime Video analyst Andrew Whitworth.
But a job doing actually play-by-play could be far more lucrative to Fitzpatrick in the long run. If he proves to have a knack at the job, he could parlay it into a job at one of the big four broadcast networks somewhere down the line.
