While Teddy Bridgewater isn't playing in the NFL, he's still around the game of football in a major way.
Bridgewater is the head coach of Miami Northwestern High School in Florida and has led the team to the 3A State Championship Game in his first season at the helm.
Miami Northwestern won 40-0 in the State Semifinal game and will play Raines High School in the State Championship Game.
It's an awesome accomplishment for Bridgewater and he can accomplish something bigger if he leads his team to the State Championship next week.
Bridgewater spent 10 seasons in the NFL and was with the Detroit Lions for a little bit last season. He spent the first few seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings before bouncing around to the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and then the Lions.
He has appeared in 79 games, throwing for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions. His best individual season came in 2021 when he started 14 games for the Broncos, throwing for 3,052 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He was the 32nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
It's awesome that these kids are getting coached by a former NFL quarterback who very much knows his stuff. He can incorporate his offense into this team and so far, it's working.
Here's hoping that Bridgewater can lead his team to the championship next week. It would be quite the story, especially since it's only his first year as a head coach.
