Former NFL Receiver Is Now A USFL Star

Victor Bolden Jr.’s NFL career didn’t go the way he wanted.

After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, he played for the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills for two seasons.

Aside from playing mostly in special teams, he was also suspended for four games in 2018 due to the usage of performance-enhancing drugs.

His stint in the big leagues ended as a part of the Detroit Lions’ practice squad from 2019 to 2021.

However, he is getting the break he deserves after an impressive performance in the United States Football League.

Bolden became the Most Valuable Player of the 2022 USFL Championship Game after finishing with 64 yards and a touchdown.

His team, the Birmingham Stallions, blitzed through the regular season with a 9-1 record.

In the playoffs, they defeated the New Orleans Breakers to set a championship showdown with the Philadelphia Stars.

Bolden’s touchdown catch gave the Stallions the lead and they never looked back.

Scooby Wright‘s pick-six sealed the deal for the Stallions even if Philadelphia scored a consolation touchdown.

Bolden Given A Chance To Shine

He finally had a chance to showcase what he could have done in the NFL.

But is this performance enough to convince any team to invite him to training camp?

After all, he’s only 27 years old and has a lot of football left in him.

Perhaps the USFL will thrive as a league that can give football players a second chance.

It also presents another platform wherein professional players can earn money while competing in the sport they’ve played for so long.

Doing well in the USFL can open doors that were previously shut.

Therefore, Bolden can set a precedent if he ends up returning to the NFL.
