Former USC quarterback Caleb Williams had a stellar college career. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 as a sophomore and went on to be the first pick in the 2024 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. However, while he showed flashes of brilliance as a rookie, he struggled throughout most of the season.

On Wednesday, a clip was posted on X showcasing an incredible throw by Williams. However, it was responded to by former NFL scout Daniel Kelly. Kelly pointed out that despite the impressive clip, Williams was incredibly inaccurate as a rookie.

"This is the danger of cherry-picked highlights," Kelly wrote. "Fact Caleb Williams is one of the most inaccurate QBs we’ve seen. He completed 35.6% of his passes +10 air yards ranking him 520th out of 530 QBs in the NFL since 2000.

The former USC QB's poor performance reflected in the Chicago Bears' record this past season. The Bears only won five games despite a promising start to the year. The Bears appeared to be poised for a breakout season, starting the season 4-2. However, they went on to lose 10 games in a row after their Bye Week in Week 7. They finally put up another win by defeating the Green Bay Packers in the final game of the season.

Williams will be hoping to break out next season after a disappointing rookie campaign. In 2024, he completed 351 of 562 passing attempts for 3541 yards and 20 TDs.
