Former NFL Star Announces He's Performing At Fyre Fest 2

The first-ever Fyre Festival is one of the most notorious music events of all time, but the event is more notable for what did not take place instead of what did.

Fyre Festival was intended to be a luxury music festival in the same style as Coachella, held on an island in the Bahamas. Several influencers and celebrities promoted the event, but guests arrived in 2017 to substandard food options, accomodations and more - all while a storm affected the venue.

Festival organizer Billy McFarland assured fans that the second attempt at the festival will still proceed as planned, despite rumors and reports that local officials aren't aware of an event of the magnitude that he's promised.

One former NFL superstar with a burgeoning rap career says that not only is the event still taking place - he plans to be there as a performer.

"Be there or be square," said former Pittsburgh Steelers star and All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown. "And make sure you put that [expletive] on," he added, referencing his first hit single that went viral through social media back in 2022.

Brown has pivoted to a career in entertainment and politics since his time in the NFL ended. He infamously left the field without a shirt in what turned out to be his final NFL game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brown has been involved in several legal issues and disputes since his NFL career ended, and he has not attempted to make a formal comeback despite being one of the best players in the league during his prime.

Brown was a five-time All-Pro who made seven Pro Bowls during his career. He won a Super Bowl ring with the Bucs, joining Tom Brady as a champion following their brief one-game stint together on the New England Patriots.

Brown also led the league in receptions and receiving yards on two separate occasions, showing just how dominant of a receiver he was in the most productive seasons of his career.

Now, we'll see if he's telling the truth - and if McFarland is telling the truth - about the second-annual Fyre Festival.
