Former NFL Star Makes Bold Statement About Jets’ Aaron Rodgers
Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Sports

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems more than ready to begin his redemption story in the 2024 NFL campaign.

Last year, the Jets acquired Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers and were immediately labeled Super Bowl hopefuls as a result.

Unfortunately, Rodgers tore his Achilles on New York’s opening offensive series, ending the team’s championship aspirations.

But now, Rodgers is healthy, and he is prepared to show everyone why the Jets swung a deal to land him last spring. He has even gone as far to call Gang Green “must watch TV.”

Former NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings—who made a couple of Pro Bowls playing with Rodgers in Green Bay—is fully buying into Rodgers’ bravado going into next season.

Jennings thinks that Rodgers has everyone right where he wants them and feels that the future Hall-of-Famer loves the fact that everyone is doubting him.

Rodgers absolutely seems to embrace pressure, and there are very few situations that come as pressure-packed as playing under the bright lights of New York (well, even though the Jets technically play in New Jersey).

The Jets have also done a fine job of putting more pieces around Rodgers this offseason. They signed wide receiver Mike Williams in free agency and added another talented wide out in Malachi Corley via the NFL Draft. They patched up what had previously been a brutal offensive line. They even further improved their already great defense by trading for elite edge rusher Haason Reddick.

Basically, New York is going all in on next season, and it pretty much has to.

Rodgers is 40 years old and is entering the final year of his deal. No one knows what the future holds for Rodgers beyond 2024. Heck, even he said that if the Jets don’t get it done this coming season, he and lots of other people within the organization may lose their jobs.

Obviously, the 10-time Pro Bowler fully understands what is at stake.

The good news for Rodgers and Gang Green is that the AFC East is wide open, so the Jets can certainly make a run at the division title.

Of course, the rest of the conference is pretty packed, so it will be a tough journey to the Super Bowl for Aaron Rodgers and Co.

But he’s right: it is must see TV.
