Former NFL Star Makes Wildly Bold Prediction For New York Jets
Danielle Parhizkaran / USA TODAY NETWORK

The New York Jets boast one of the most talent-laden rosters in the NFL, but a whole lot of people still do not believe in them.

Why?

Well, first of all, the Jets haven’t made the playoffs in 13 years. That represents the longest active postseason drought in the NFL. They also have not won a Super Bowl since 1969.

Second, New York is relying on a 40-year-old quarterback coming off of a torn Achilles in Aaron Rodgers.

People don’t trust the Jets to begin with, so you can understand why they would have some reservations about the Rodgers-led squad heading into 2024.

However, former NFL wide receiver Greg Jennings is expecting big things from New York next season, going as far to say that the Jets are “definitely, probably” going to reach the Super Bowl.

The Jets acquired Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers last year and were immediately labeled Super Bowl hopefuls as a result.

Unfortunately, Rodgers ended up tearing his Achilles on New York’s first offensive series of the season, ending the club’s championship aspirations.

Still, the Jets managed to go a fairly respectable 7-10 without Rodgers under center thanks much in part to a dominant defense.

New York has added more pieces around Rodgers this offseason, signing wide receiver Mike Williams, drafting fellow wide out Malachi Corley and upgrading what was previously a paltry offensive line.

Not only that, but the Jets further buttressed their defense by swinging a trade for elite pass rusher Haason Reddick.

Of course, New York’s hopes still hinge on the health and effectiveness of Rodgers, who hasn’t really played meaningful football for an extended period of time for well over a year.

But in an AFC East division that is now wide open, the Jets absolutely have a chance to make some noise.

Obviously, the Kansas City Chiefs are still the favorites to win the conference. You also have clubs like the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans who will be vying with the Chiefs for AFC supremacy. Basically, New York is facing an uphill battle.

Taking all of that into consideration, one cannot deny that the Jets look very impressive in paper going into next season, and Rodgers seems very focused.

If Aaron Rodgers is anything like his old Packers self, New York will be a force to be reckoned with in 2024.
