The Green Bay Packers were faced with a very difficult decision this offseason. Do they keep star cornerback Jaire Alexander and hope that he can remain healthy for the first time in three years or do they let him walk and save a lot of money in the process?
As the offseason moved forward, the Packers did work with Alexander to see if he would take a pay cut. He was not interested in playing on the terms Green Bay was offering him.
Unfortunately, after being a longtime fan favorite and a key cornerstone of the defense, the Packers made the decision to move on from Alexander.
Now, the 28-year-old star cornerback is a free agent. He will be able to make his choice for where he wants to play the next chapter of his NFL career. There are a lot of teams who will likely have interest in him.
That being said, Alexander has now been linked to an AFC contender.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has vocally requested that the team go after Alexander. He wants to see the star cornerback playing for his team during the 2025 NFL season. Of course, Jackson and Alexander were teammates during their college careers at Louisville.
“Go get him, Eric!” Jackson said.

Alexander would be an excellent addition for Baltimore. The Ravens could use some help in the secondary and he’s about as good as it gets when he’s healthy.
Last season in seven games with the Packers, Alexander racked up 16 total tackles to go along with a fumble recovery, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and seven defended passes. Those numbers show that he is still more than capable of playing at a high level when he’s on the field.
Only time will tell, but Baltimore is a team to watch. Green Bay will miss Alexander, but it would be good to see him get his career back on track and be able to play for a contender. As long as he isn’t playing against the Packers, fans are sure to want to see him find success.
