Former Penn State safety Jonathan Sutherland is back in the NFL.

According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, Sutherland is re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks to the practice squad. He is rejoining Seattle after receiving an injury settlement during the preseason.

Sutherland signed with the Seahawks after going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The 5-foot-11 linebacker/safety from Ottawa played 58 total games at Penn State, spanning five seasons. Sutherland recorded 137 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He became the first player in PSU history to wear the No. 0 in 2020.

He blocked two punts for the Nittany Lions against Idaho in 2019, the first time two punts were blocked in the same game for the program since 2000.
