After taking the team to Super Bowl LX, Mike Vrabel put himself in a complex position last week. The coach was photographed at an Arizona resort on March 28 with NFL insider Dianna Russini.
The coach and the insider rejected the idea that the photos showed more than two friends hanging out.
After The Athletic sidelined her, she resigned from the outlet, citing that she didn’t want to be at the center of speculation, let alone from fellow reporters.
Talking with Michael Holley of NBC Sports Boston, a former player said the Patriots players would demand answers from their head coach.
“I talked to a former player and he said, ‘The hell they won’t want answers. You think Mike Vrabel can just brush this under the rug without talking to the players? Coaching don’t treat us like they treat the media.’ I think Vrabel will have to say something to his team,” the anonymous player told Holley. “I think he’s gonna have to answer to something that’s been in the news for a while. For his credibility he’s gonna have to say something to the team.”

This situation could still affect Vrabel to some extent, but his job appears to be safe.
