The Las Vegas Raiders were a disaster last season under head coach Antonio Pierce. It was not entirely his fault, as the quarterback situation he was given was less than desirable, and several key players either underperformed or sustained injuries that kept them out most of the year.
Gardner Minshew fell into both categories as his lackluster season came to an end after he suffered a broken collarbone later in the year. He was released this offseason and signed with the Chiefs, a bitter AFC West rival, and according to ESPN's Ryan McFadden , former Raiders defensive end Janarius Robinson will be joining him in Kansas City.
Robinson was a fourth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he was waived before ever playing a snap for the franchise. He landed on the Eagles' practice squad but failed to gain any traction once again, failing to ever step on the field for Philadelphia.
In 2023, Las Vegas added him to the practice squad, and he ended up playing 187 snaps for the team over the next two seasons, totaling 1.5 sacks and 13 total tackles across 16 games. Robinson had his share of off-the-field issues, and when the new Raiders regime took over, they chose not to re-sign him. Now, he'll have to compete for snaps on a competitive Chiefs defensive line if he ever wants the opportunity to take on his old team.
