The Las Vegas Raiders went after one of the best linebackers in the 2010 NFL Draft, as Rolando McLain was sitting right in front of their eyes. They drafted him with the eighth overall pick; the rest is history.
Well, maybe not the history you would think.
McClain's career with the Raiders did not go well, as he played just 41 games with them. He was arrested for gun and drug charges and was out of the league for a year.
McClain then came back to the NFL but to the Dallas Cowboys. He played two seasons with the Cowboys, but his career abruptly ended. The NFL suspended McClain indefinitely for another failed drug test.
Everyone thought McClain would never rejoin the NFL or get his suspension lifted. However, it appears that Roger Goodell changed his mind.
On Wednesday, the NFL lifted his suspension, meaning McClain can play football again. It's been since 2016 since he last played, so it will be hard for him to get another gig, but, who knows, maybe he has changed his life.
