Former Tennessee Vols WR Ramel Keyton was a significant part of the team's 11-win season back in 2022. The VFL had a number of impact catches in some crucial moments for the Vols as they won the most games in over 20 years and their first major bowl win since the 1999 Fiesta Bowl.
Now, he's getting a shot at trying to join another former Vol wideout who had his own big share of plays in Knoxville in Jauan Jennings. According to the NFL's transactions list from Monday, Keyton worked out with the San Francisco 49ers.
Keyton was an undrafted free agent signee with the Las Vegas Raiders after the 2024 NFL Draft. He surprised many outsiders by making the Raiders' final 53-man roster at the conclusion of the preseason. He was waived and signed to the practice squad in late September, but he was signed to the active roster again on November 1. He was released by the team on April 25.
Tennessee fans know Keyton's big play ability and vertical skills well. Keyton delivered one of the biggest plays of the 2022 season with his full extension diving catch for 43 yards on the final drive of the first half against the Florida Gators. The Vols would end up scoring to end the half and go on to win 38-33. Keyton also had a catch on the final drive in Tennessee's epic 52-49 win over Alabama that same year.

We'll find out soon enough if Keyton did enough on Monday to share a locker room this training camp and preseason with Jennings - and perhaps longer if he can make an impression on the 49ers' coaching staff.
