Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson did his best Adam Schefter impression on Monday and broke some news about his own career.

Patterson, a first round selection by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2013 NFL Draft, spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in 13 games for the Steelers and totaled 135 rushing yards along with 12 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown.

On Monday, Patterson was released by the Steelers. And the news was broke by Patterson via a post on Twitter/X.com.

"Breaking news Pittsburgh Steelers release old washed up Cordarrelle Patterson on his day off," tweeted Patterson.

Patterson, who is a four-time Pro Bowler, has spent 12 seasons in the NFL. The South Carolina native spent just one season at Tennessee, but that one year in Knoxville was enough to turn Patterson in a household name.

We'll see if Patterson can find a new team before the start of the season. He still provides value as a returner, not to mention the versatility he brings as a running back and as a wide receiver.
