Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Marquez Callaway was released on Tuesday by the Las Vegas Raiders.
Callaway, who played at Tennessee from 2016 to 2019, was signed to the Raiders' practice squad in late August after he was released by the Denver Broncos.
The former Vols standout signed with Denver during the offseason where was reunited with head coach Sean Payton.
Callaway, who played for the New Orleans Saints from 2020 to 2022, had his most successful season in the NFL under Payton in 2021.
The Georgia native caught 46 passes for 698 yards and six touchdowns during the 2021 season while filling in for Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (Thomas missed the entire 2021 season due to injury).
We have signed CB Cornell Armstrong to the practice squad.

Callaway demonstrated in 2021 that he has NFL talent, so it's a bit of a surprise that he hasn't stuck on a roster this season.
Of course, Denver and Las Vegas aren't great situations for any wide receiver, so perhaps the former Vol will land in a better spot now that he's on the market again.
