Late last month, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler suggested that former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt would like a fresh start in the NFL.
“It’s worth monitoring whether the Giants can recoup draft capital of several former picks that have not worked out,” wrote Fowler. “Former third-round receiver Jalin Hyatt would like a fresh start elsewhere.”
Hyatt, who is in his third season with the New York Giants, has been buried on the depth chart the last two seasons.
The former Vol has just 11 receptions for 79 yards since the beginning of the 2024 season.
The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday (November 4) at 4:00 PM ET.
And despite the report from Fowler last month, Hyatt says he hopes to remain in New York.
“I can’t really control what happens with trades....I want to be here," said Hyatt on Sunday. "I want to be part of this team. Keep building great relationships with guys on this team. It’ll hurt to be moved, but at the end of the day, it’s the league. It’s a business.”
The Giants were hesitant to engage with teams that showed interest in Hyatt before the start of the season. It sounds like New York, though, is at least willing to listen on Hyatt now.
