"Now the Tennessee Titans have a guy, a competitor, in Cam Ward, who is gonna chirp back and you will probably hear his voice above those other two (Arden Key and Jeff Simmons) ..."
Last year at this time, no one would have thought Ran Carthon would be on SiriusXM NFL Radio and not be the general manager of the Titans. But alas, Carthon was on the radio speaking of his former team and more specifically, quarterback Cam Ward. Carthon spoke about how, during his days with the Titans, edge rusher Arden Key and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons were the voices you heard in practice all the time, and how that was changing now with Ward in the building.
Expanding on this shift, Carthon noted that Ward doesn't back down; he will get right back to Key, Simmons or whoever else chirps from across the line. In addition, Carthon gave Ward one compliment that you want to hear about your young quarterback and emerging leader.
“I think they are getting the ultimate competitor," Carthon said.

Ran Carthon loves the fiery voice the @Titans are getting with QB Cam Ward.

Ward can be reserved, especially when talking to the media after or before practice, with that cool confidence exhibited in the way he shows belief in himself and his teammates with every word he says. But when between those lines and when being confronted on the field, it seems like something else comes out of Ward. The two sides of Ward were shown when he met with the press after practice and gave a compliment to Jarvis Brownlee Jr when talking to the media after Wednesday’s practice. Brownlee Jr. heard Ward talking and had some words. And here is the response Ward had back:
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and Cam Ward are pure comedy

“How about them Louisville Cardinals”
“Yeah we [Miami] bust them ass this year”

As you can see, he is a confident young man, but also one who can be fiery when needed. It will be interesting to see how he balances that as his career goes on. But Carthon is right; there is a new voice in Nashville, and it resides on offense, wearing the number one in two-tone blue.
