Former Titans head coach Mike Vrabel piles on his former boss Urban Meyer while on ESPN’s ManningCast

Former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel made an appearance on ESPN's "ManningCast" during Monday Night Football between the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers.

Vrabel used the national platform to throw shade at his former boss, Urban Meyer. Vrabel coached under Meyer from 2012-2013 as the defensive line coach at Ohio State University. That's Vrabel's alma mater and where Meyer would eventually win a national title in 2014.

A decade after leaving OSU for an opportunity in the NFL, Vrabel and Meyer were division rivals. While Vrabel was coaching the Tennessee Titans and Meyer had been named the head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. A collision course for two guys with a long history and tenuous relationship.

So it's no wonder that when given an opportunity to pile on Urban Meyer during Monday's broadcast, Vrabel took it.

Peyton and Eli Manning were joined earlier in the broadcast by actor Owen Wilson. The broadcast showed an old clip of Meyer asking Wilson "Who are you?... How do I know you?" during a celebrity flag football game. Wilson replied with "I'm on your team."

When Vrabel joined the broadcast later in the second half, he joked about a similar experience. "I can relate with Owen Wilson. Urban Meyer asked him 'Do I know you?' and Urban Meyer, when I was coaching the Titans and he was coaching the Jaguars, he actually said the same thing to me," said Vrabel. "I said yeah I'm the head coach for the Titans and I worked for you for two years."

Now either this actually happened...and Vrabel is publicly shedding light on Meyer's incompetence as an NFL head coach. Or (the more likely option) Vrabel is telling this in jest to highlight the arrogance and idiocy of Meyer...Either way, leave it to Mike Vrabel to pull no punches.

Vrabel was also asked by the Manning brothers who he would be coaching for next year. While he declined to answer, I'm inclined to believe that 12 months from now, Vrabel is more likely the be coaching an NFL team in Monday Night Football than be broadcast about one.
