The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for another exciting run ahead of the 2024-25 NFL season. Green Bay wants to make a deep playoff run, but their projected schedule for the regular season has fans excited. Several 2024 matchup leaks surfaced including an exciting Thanksgiving game against the Miami Dolphins.
Four 2024 Packers games have been revealed by beat writer Matt Schneiderman:
First, Green Bay is taking on the Houston Texans at Lambeau Field for a Week 7 Oct. 20th matchup. In addition, they will face the Dolphins at home on Thanksgiving night. Green Bay is set to play the New Orleans Saints in a Monday Night Football matchup in Week 16 at Lambeau as well. Finally, the Packers will face the San Francisco 49ers in an afternoon Week 12 game at home, per Schneiderman’s sources.
It looks like the Packers will have some intense matchups on their schedule during the Fall of the 2024-25 NFL season. All of the aforementioned teams have high aspirations. Perhaps the most notable team on the schedule is the 49ers.
San Francisco finished the 2023-24 season as the top team in the NFC and advanced to Super Bowl 58. They lost 25-22 to the Kansas City Chiefs in a down-to-the-wire matchup, but they will surely seek vengeance. Before going to the championship though, SF needs to get through their conference foes.
The Packers had a chance to defeat the 49ers during the NFC Divisional Round on Jan. 20th. Green Bay took a 21-14 lead going into the fourth quarter under the leadership of Jordan Love and the defense. However, 2023-24 MVP candidates Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey rallied the 49ers to a 24-21 win.
Green Bay put forth a valiant effort and will look to overcome the rest of their tough opposition during the 2024-25 season. Exciting times lie ahead for fans. How will the Packers fare in their challenging schedule?
Green Bay could be a piece away from a deeper postseason run. They will have some stout contributors returning for the 2024-25 season. Of course, much of the Packers’ success starts on the offensive end with rising fourth-year quarterback Jordan Love.
Love solidified himself as a worthy Aaron Rodgers heir after a stellar year of production. The 25-year-old threw for 4,159 yards (seventh in the NFL), 32 touchdowns (second), and boasted a QBR (ninth) of 62.1.
Love helped the Packers break through the ceiling analysts put on them at the beginning of the season. If he continues to play the way he did in 2023-24, Green Bay’s offense has a chance to rank toward the top of the NFC.
The offense is not the only promising thing the Packers possess. In addition to boasting a reliable defensive lineup, Green Bay’s special teams unit should compete well. The Packers returned key supportive piece Eric Wilson during the free agency period.
Wilson established himself as a valuable special teams asset in two years with the team. He has a total of 48 tackles during his tenure. With Wilson and a plethora of other returning players, Green Bay should be in a good position to compete with the best in the NFL.
