Four receivers turning back the clock in 2025

The infamous saying goes, "the more things change, the more they stay the same." That can be applied to several scenarios across life and it can always apply to sports as well.

That will be the case for four receivers in the NFL this season as they have all returned to the teams that drafted them 10-plus seasons ago.

Here are the four and here's what to expect from each of them.

Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers

Allen was drafted by the Chargers in 2013 and spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the organization. He spent last season with the Chicago Bears but has now returned to the Chargers.

Allen's most recent season in Los Angeles saw him rack up 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns. While he almost certainly won't put up that production at 33-years-old, he will still be a solid No. 2 option for Justin Herbert.

Amari Cooper, Las Vegas Raiders

Cooper was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2015 draft. He was a star in his three-and-a-half seasons with the team, as he racked up over 1,000 receiving yards in three of his first four seasons.

He has made several stops across the league since being traded in 2018 (Dallas, Cleveland, Buffalo) and he has now returned to the place it all started. 

Cooper has put up 1,100-plus receiving yards in four of his last six seasons so it is evident he can still play, and he will give Geno Smith another threat on the outside.
