In a disappointing turn of events for the Iowa State Cyclones, four-star quarterback commit Jett Thomalla appears to be weighing his options on the recruiting front.

Thomalla is set to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide on May 30th for an unofficial visit, according to a report from BamaOnLine’s Blake Byler.

“We’ve confirmed that Jett Thomalla – Millard South – Quarterback will take an unofficial visit to Alabama on May 30, this coming Friday,” Byler wrote. “He’s been committed to Iowa State since April 18, but [QB Coach] Nick Sheridan visited his school in Omaha to watch Thomalla work out about two weeks ago, and he and [OC] Ryan Grubb called to offer him on May 15. It’s been known that he wanted to visit, and finally nailed down a date. He also told us that he could come back for an OV, depending on how this visit goes.”

Thomalla, a 6-foot-4 signal caller from Omaha, Nebraska, initially chose the Cyclones over offers from 12 different programs, including Arizona, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and more.

Coming out of Millard South High School in the Class of 2026, Thomalla is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 231st-ranked player. He also checked in as the 16th-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of Nebraska.

In his career at Millard South, Thomalla has recorded some incredible stats. The Nebraska native has thrown for more than 6700 in three seasons with an overall touchdown-to-interception ratio of 76-14.

While Nick Saban may not be at Alabama anymore, the brand’s recruiting prowess makes them a concerning opponent to face in the case of Iowa State.
