Wesley French, Dallis Flowers, JoJo Domann, and Trevor Denbow are the four undrafted free agents who made the initial 53-man roster for the Indianapolis Colts. Although, they may be the first players cut after the addition of a player off the waivers. For now, these players have earned their spot and are eager to make their NFL debuts.

Which Four Undrafted Free Agents Made the Indianapolis Colts Roster?

French-Fries Stays Untied for Another Day

The beloved duo “French-Fries” stays united as Wesley French and Will Fries both made the 53-man roster. We will focus on French due to his UDFA title. French has shown promise as a pass blocking center during the 2022 Preseason. Across the right guard, left guard and center position, he gave up zero sacks on 80 pass blocking snaps. This garnered him a PFF pass blocking grade of 82.0 for the preseason.

While he excels at pass blocking, he has trouble when it comes to the run game. His preseason grade from PFF was terrible at 30.6. This may come from a lack of experience, which can be fixed with time as a backup. But the revolving door of fellow linemen, and running backs may have taken its’ toll on French’s grade. His worst performance also came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have a formidable front seven to say the least.

Dallis Flowers: Dangerous Special Teams Weapon

Dallis Flowers proved himself more than capable at retuning kickoffs. This could be the prime reason he made his way onto the 53-man roster. On six kick returns this preseason Flowers was able to average 27.2 yards per return. And on his lone punt return, he was able to gain 13-yards of field position before being brought down.

Flowers caught the attention of some outside eyes and showed off his true speed and elusiveness with his 53-yard kick-off return against Tampa Bay. His move to the outside during this run was smooth while he covered a huge amount of ground. With a more experienced blocking group, Flowers may have had a shot at the endzone. Hopefully Colts fans will get the chance to see his moves during the regular season.

Trevor Denbow: Possible Special Teams GOAT

On 23 snaps of coverage on special teams undrafted free agent Trevor Denbow made four solo tackles and one assisted during the 2022 Preseason for the Indianapolis Colts. While five tackles in 23 snaps doesn’t seem like many to an outside eye, it was good enough for the Colts to make a roster spot for Denbow.

Throughout all units of the special teams, Denbow received a grade of 73.3 from PFF. This could improve greatly when he isn’t the best performing player on that unit. While the injury to Armani Watts may have opened the door for Denbow, he will still make himself know to the team and Colts fans alike.

JoJo Domann: Another Special Teams Addition with a Prospective Future

It is apparent in this article, and others by me, that I love special teams, and so do the Indianapolis Colts. JoJo Domann was another beast on that unit for the Colts this preseason. It was sad to see his fellow UDFA linebacker Sterling Weatherford miss out on the final roster. But Domann now has his eyes set on making a difference and forcing the organization to keep him around.

Domann could follow the same story arc as Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed. Domann’s size and athleticism bode well for this possibility. With waiver wire action ending at noon, on Wednesday the 31st, we will all soon know who is more permanently on the roster and who is not. If someone is added via the waivers by the Colts, it is likely that one of these players will be sent to the practice squad.
