Former NFL quarterback and current broadcaster Mark Sanchez was arrested last weekend and is facing a felony battery charge after attacking 69-year-old truck driver Perry Tole outside a downtown Indianapolis hotel.

During the altercation, both people were stabbed and ended up in the hospital. Sanchez was pepper-sprayed and stabbed in his upper torso, while Tole suffered knife wounds on his face, according to AP.

As of Monday, Tole is suing Sanchez and his employer, Fox Corporation, in Indiana state court over actual and punitive damages.

Fox Announces NFL Broadcasters for Week 6 After Mark Sanchez Incident

Fox Sports revealed its announcer lineup for NFL Week 6 on Thursday, confirming that Sanchez will not broadcast a game this week and leaving his future as a television analyst in doubt.

He was originally scheduled to be paired with Chris Myers as the color commentator for the Indianapolis Colts versus Las Vegas Raiders game last Sunday. Following the legal incident, Sanchez was replaced by Fox college football analyst Brady Quinn.

This week, Myers is back with his regular analyst, Mark Schlereth, for the Seattle Seahawks-Jacksonville Jaguars game at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Fox's top broadcast team of Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will cover the Los Angeles Rams-Baltimore Ravens game in the early window.

Did Mark Sanchez Get Fired?

Matt Yoder of Awful Announcing added an important piece of context that sheds light on Sanchez's immediate future in the broadcast booth.

"With bye weeks beginning in full, Fox may not need to call Mark Sanchez back to duty for a while," Yoder wrote Thursday. "The network only has five broadcasts each Sunday through November 9 for Week 11. They can keep the same lineup they are using this week intact until then."

Though Sanchez is not on the roster for this weekend's NFL games, Fox Sports has not made any official statements on the lawsuit or Sanchez's employment.
