FOX Sports latest MOCK DRAFT has the Dolphins selecting

The team at FOX SPORTS put out their latest mock draft, and with two picks in round one, they have Miami selecting.

Round 1, Pick #11: Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE, Miami (FL)

“Bain is a top-five player in this draft, but will likely fall a bit because of the conversation around his arm length. Jason Taylor, a first ballot Hall-of-Famer who spent 15 of his 17 seasons as a Dolphin, was Bain’s position coach for the entirety of his Hurricane career and has been outspoken about arm length not mattering along with how highly he thinks of the 21-year-old.

Bain might have the best film of any edge player in this draft, dominating teams like Notre DameFlorida, Texas A&M, and Ohio State. In that first round CFP game, he had a whopping three sacks against an Aggies offensive line that had given up just 12 in 12 games. “

NFL.com Draft Profile

Overview

Note taker, grudge holder and block destructor with a compact frame and defensive tackle play strength. Bain is ill-tempered with his take-ons, hitting blockers with heavy hand strikes. He plays through tight ends and can anchor against tackles and double teams. However, his lack of length can lead to him being smothered if he doesn’t land the first strike. He can bend and flip his hips at the top of the rush, swipe away punches and generate a strong bull rush. His playoff run showed an ability to generate quick wins if tackles are passive in setting to him. He can rush off the edge or mismatch guards as a sub-package rusher. Bain’s explosive power and toughness should translate, giving him a high floor as an NFL starter.

Strengths

  • Loose hips and violent hands create shorter rush corners.
  • Disguises speed-to-power charge, surprising tackles.
  • Can stab and shove tackles off-balance, creating inside openings.
  • Accurate two-hand swipe batters and clears the punch.
  • Power like a defensive tackle with agility like an edge.
  • Explodes punch into the chest of blocker.
  • Can eat blocks and hold his ground at the point of attack.
  • Hands and feet are in full alliance to shed and work around edges.
  • Coached by NFL rush aficionado and Hall of Famer, Jason Taylor.

Weaknesses

  • Ducks head and drops eyes, driving into run blocks.
  • Short arms will get him crowded at the point of attack.
  • Average pursuit speed out to the flanks.
  • Will take some plays off when action doesn’t come his way.
  • Counters don’t come naturally at the top of the rush.
  • Average closing burst to the quarterback.

Round 1, Pick #30: Omar Cooper Jr., WR, Indiana

“With 13 touchdown receptions this past season, the only Power 4 player who caught more scores than Cooper Jr. was his teammate — Elijah Sarratt. Miami just traded Jaylen Waddle to Denver for this pick and should draft a replacement to help out new quarterback Malik Willis. “

NFL.com Draft Profile

Overview

Big, strong target whose two-year rise is bolstered by translatable tape. While he was a full-time slot receiver in 2025, Cooper has played outside, as well. He can stem and drive past press with his strength. He has potent early acceleration to climb past nickelbacks into top position to challenge deep. His routes lack polish and he has average in-and-out quickness at break-points, but he’s rugged once the ball is in his hands. His ability to add yards after contact could earn Cooper more carries than we saw from him at Indiana. Fighting for catch space and blocking for the running game are areas where he needs improvement. Cooper is an ascending slot bully with Day 2 value.

Strengths

  • Posted 20 touchdown catches since the start of the 2024 season.
  • Welcomes physical play and wins through contact.
  • Versatile enough to be more than a slot option.
  • Creates lateral separation when beating press.
  • Digs hard through drive phase before snapping head around.
  • First and second acceleration catches defenders off-guard.
  • Explosive leaper who can pluck high throws at their apex.
  • Rugged runner who can break free from multiple tacklers.

Weaknesses

  • Inefficient getting in and out of intermediate breaks.
  • Average contested-catch success for his physical profile.
  • Needs quicker recognition and adjustment on underthrows.
  • Acceleration out of the stem is average.
  • Disappointing effort and physicality when asked to run block.
