Fox Sports personality compares Aaron Rodgers, Zach Wilson with hilarious analogy

Fox Sports personality Craig Carton used an interesting analogy to compare New York Jets quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Zach Wilson on Friday morning.

Carton said the gap between Wilson's performance and what is expected from Rodgers in the 2023 campaign is "unprecedented in NFL history."

In an effort to end the longest postseason drought in the four major professional sports and make their first playoff appearance since Rex Ryan's second year as the head coach (2010), the Jets traded for the four-time MVP in April.

While he's still only 23 years old and the organization has said they're not ready to give up on him, Wilson has been a major bust since being selected second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former BYU Cougar posted a 54.5% completion percentage and 72.8 quarterback rating with 1,688 passing yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions in nine games last season. In 22 career contests, Wilson's recorded a 55.2% completion percentage and 70.9 quarterback rating for 4,022 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.

Even a down year for the 39-year-old Rodgers blew Wilson's numbers out of the water. The Green Bay Packers legend finished 2022 with a 64.6% completion percentage and 91.1 quarterback rating for 3,695 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions across 17 games.

Rodgers, Wilson and the rest of the squad will report to training camp on Wednesday and the HBO "Hard Knocks'" cameras will be rolling.
