NFL football on Thanksgiving Day always brings in a massive number of viewers. The incredible tradition of games played on Thanksgiving had an incredible display in 2024, and promises to do even better this year. An NFC North rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will be renewed. The Packers earned a 27-13 victory over the Lions in the season opener at Lambeau Field.
This matchup will be the first game of the NFL's "John Madden Thanksgiving Celebration" on Thursday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. ET, as Fox has the TV rights to this game.
On Tuesday, Fox made an exciting announcement about its Thanksgiving Day presentation of the matchup between Matt LaFleur's Packers and Dan Campbell's Lions.
Fox announced that it has partnered with Tubi to stream the Thanksgiving Day game. Fans will be able to stream the rivalry matchup on Tubi in 4K for free.
"Last year’s Thanksgiving Day game on FOX was the most-watched regular-season NFL game of the year, and this year’s NFC North showdown promises to deliver another blockbuster audience across FOX, FOX Sports App, FOX Deportes, FOX One (via subscription or TV provider authentication) and Tubi," the network said in a statement.
This will be the second time Fox is partnering with Tubi to live stream a big-time NFL game. The pair also combined for Super Bowl LIX, where fans could do the same thing to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles matchup. This resulted in the most-streamed Super Bowl in history, with over 24 million unique viewers.
The combination of the rivalry between the Packers and Lions and the game being played on Thanksgiving Day should result in another record-breaking viewership performance.
