Free-agent WR DeSean Jackson reportedly has seven interested teams

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson is a free agent after he was waived by the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday, but he probably won't be without a team for long. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, about seven teams have expressed interest in signing Jackson.

"My understanding is there are about seven teams that have shown interest," Garafolo said Saturday. "Jackson as well as his agent ... are having conversations with those teams. So Jackson is going to have phone calls and Zooms over the next couple of days here. No rush, waiting out his options. There are no plans, no plans, I am told, to retire. Jackson wants to continue to play and play for a contender, so he is sorting out his options."

Jackson, 34, earned three trips to the Pro Bowl during his six-season tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles. He then had stints with Washington and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before a two-year reunion with the Eagles. Jackson joined the Rams on a one-year deal in March, but he played in only seven games with the team and caught eight passes for 221 yards and one touchdown.

Garafolo noted that Jackson's hunt for a new team may have been complicated by the Cleveland Browns releasing Odell Beckham Jr. on Friday, as many of the teams interested in Jackson will likely also have interest in Beckham. Unlike Jackson, Beckham is subject to the waiver wire and will likely find a new team when waivers are processed Monday.

Jackson was waived by the Rams after requesting a trade in October.
