The Indianapolis Colts need to add some Free Agents before Training Camp. The Colts have some below average position groups that could use a serious upgrade. The Wide Receiver room is young, that could pose some problems. The Free Agency pool is full of capable and even possibly some team changing talents. The Colts should acquire them sooner rather than later to get them fitting into the system as fast as possible.

Must Bring Back: Free Agent T.Y. Hilton WR

T.Y. Hilton is a fan favorite and deserves to get an extension from the Indianapolis Colts. Despite a scary neck injury before the beginning of the 2021 NFL Season, T.Y. Hilton had a fairly productive season. Lets compare 2021 to his 2017 season, the last season he was selected to the NFL Pro Bowl. In 2021 T.Y. Hilton had a Catch Percentage of 62.2 much better when compared to 2017 when it was 52.3%, per Pro Football Reference. Hilton’s Yards per Reception was slightly down at 14.4 in 2021, compared to 16.9 in 2017. These two stats could show that T.Y. Hilton is still a viable Wide Receiver for any NFL team. His love for Indianapolis and its fanbase paired with his veteran leadership that the young wide receiver core needs is exactly why the Indianapolis Colts should add him before training camp.

Another Reunion in Indy: Free Agent Julio Jones WR

The Colts are a team not afraid to reunite old duos that had success. Frank Reich begged and got a reunion with Carson Wentz. Most recently the Colts signed Yannick Ngakoue to play again under his old DC . Reuniting Matt Ryan with Julio Jones would fit right in with the same line of thinking. If Julio Jones can stay healthy, that is always a big IF, his production has not diminished when he finds the field. With a new home and a reunion with his old QB, Julio Jones could find himself with another great year on his Hall of Fame resumé.

An Indiana Native Comes Home: Free Agent Ryan Kerrigan DE

Born and raised in Muncie Indiana, Ryan Kerrigan is Indiana through and through. Starting at Muncie Central High School, going to Purdue University, it would only make sense to play and possibly end his career in Indianapolis. Kerrigan could possibly revitalizes his career and end on a good note. His most recent season where he started more than two games was in 2018. In this season Ryan Kerrigan had 43 tackles, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles according to NFL.com. If Kerrigan can show any flashes of these stats in the rotation of the Colts Defense he will have a place to finish his career.
